Prep the Green Beans
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Prepare a bowl of ice water.
Add green beans to boiling water and cook for 3–4 minutes, until bright green and crisp-tender.
Transfer immediately to ice water to stop cooking.
Drain and pat dry thoroughly.
Toast the Breadcrumbs
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add breadcrumbs and cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently until golden brown.
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly (do not burn).
Combine
Add blanched green beans to the skillet.
Toss gently to coat evenly in the breadcrumb mixture.
Season with salt and black pepper.
Add lemon juice if using.
Sprinkle with Parmesan and parsley if desired.
Cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through.
Serve
Transfer to serving dish.
Serve immediately for best crunch.
