Ingredients
  

  • For the tofu:
  • 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu pressed and sliced
  • For the marinade:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon coriander
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Optional additions:
  • Chili flakes
  • Smoked paprika
  • For serving:
  • Pita or flatbread
  • Hummus or tahini sauce
  • Fresh vegetables tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce

Instructions
 

  • Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then slice into strips or cubes.
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, salt, and pepper.
  • Add tofu to the marinade and toss until fully coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.
  • Remove from heat and assemble in pita or bowls with fresh vegetables and sauce.
